SEKOLAH DATO HAJI MOHD NOR AHMAD

Sejarah Sekolah...
Bermula daripada setapak tanah belukar seluas 10.5 ekar dengan anggaran RM480,000 Gelugor Secondary School memulakan sesi persekolahan pada tarikh bersejarah 1 Januari 1969. Pada tahun 1979, sekolah ini telah ditukar nama kepada Sekolah Menengah Gelugor selaras dengan bahasa kebangsaan sebagai bahasa pengantar di sekolah. Pada tahun 1990, buat kali kedua nama sekolah ini ditukar lagi menjadi Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Datuk Haji Mohd Nor Ahmad sempena nama seorang tokoh pendidik, pejuang bangsa dan pengasas UMNO Pulau Pinang, iaitu Datuk Haji Mohd Nor B. Ahmad.
Bertukar Wajah...

Pada 1 Januari 1993, asrama desa ‘Hurun Ain’ telah diwujudkan. Penubuhan asrama desa ini bertujuan untuk memberi kemudahan dan keselesaan kepada para pelajar yang tinggal berjauhan dari sekolah. Satu blok khas asrama desa telah dibina pada 2007. Penghuni di asrama ini hanya terdiri daripada pelajar-pelajar perempuan sahaja. Selain dari itu, Sekolah ini dilengkapi dengan 7 Makmal Sains, 2 Makmal Komputer, Dewan, Mini Teater, Bilik Guru, Stor Sukan, Pusat Sumber, Bengkel Kemahiran Hidup, Bengkel Menservis Motosikal serta bilik Katering. Di samping itu, sebuah bangunan turut diubah suai menjadi bilik mesyuarat yang lebih cantik dan selesa. Ianya menjadi pilihan JPN dan pihak yang lain sebagai tempat bermesyuarat bagi beberapa aktiviti kurikulum dan kokurikulum peringkat daerah dan negeri.
Sejarah Baru...

Kini, SMKDHMNA terus menapak dengan membawa sinar yang baru kepada para pelajarnya. Beberapa subjek baru telah diperkenalkan, antaranya; pembelajaran literasi komputer, penubuhan 2 kelas MPV iaitu Katering & Penyajian dan Menservis Motosikal serta penubuhan kelas aliran agama. Kepercayaan Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri dengan menjadikan sekolah ini sebagai sekolah 'Showcase' bagi mata pelajaran Pendidikan Seni, Menservis Motosikal dan Litar 'Parcouse' menyemarakkan warga SMKDHMNA untuk terus menggungguli sebaris dengan sekolah-sekolah ternama yang lain. Dengan perubahan dan suasana yang baru ini, diharapkan warga SMKDHMNA akan lebih berusaha untuk mengejar kejayaan hidup dan sekaligus memberi kecemerlangan kepada SMK Datuk Haji Mohd Nor Ahmad.

PERINGKAT pergerakan gerhana matahari dilihat di Guwahati, Assam, India semalam.

Berjuta penduduk diselubungi ketakutan, sembunyi dalam rumah

TAREGNA (INDIA): Gerhana matahari paling lama pada abad ke-21 semalam menyebabkan sebahagian besar benua Asia bertukar gelap gelita selepas fajar ketika berjuta penduduk keluar untuk menyaksikan fenomena sekali seumur hidup itu.

Seorang wanita terbunuh dalam satu kejadian rempuhan di sungai Ganges di India, di mana penganut Hindu berkumpul untuk menyaksikan fenomena itu.

Berjuta yang lain, diselubungi ketakutan, menyembunyikan diri mereka di dalam rumah.

KANAK-KANAK menyaksikan gerhana matahari menerusi cermin mata khas dan teleskop di pinggir Osaka, Jepun semalam.

Pemerhati di Shanghai juga kecewa apabila hujan gerimis pada sebelah pagi. Namun apabila langit siang hari mula bertukar gelap seperti malam selama kira-kira lima minit, pemerhati menjadi teruja semula.

"Walaupun hujan turun, saya tidak mahu suasana muram. Saya mahu menikmati hari yang istimewa ini," katanya.

Di Bangladesh, penduduk turut bersuka ria.

"Ia adalah saat yang jarang berlaku, saya tidak pernah terfikir untuk melihatnya dalam hidup saya," kata Abdullah Sayeed, seorang pelajar kolej yang berkunjung ke bandar Panchagarh dari ibu kota Dhaka untuk menyaksikannya.

land and lost

"Land Of The Lost" is by all counts all too familiar but still interesting and funny enough to hold its own. To begin with, it has a story that is quite similar to Eric Brevig's "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" then evolves into something like "Superman" and ends up like Robert Zemeckis' 1985 classic "Back To The Future."

The story-telling is straight to the point. While keeping it simple, the story revisits the 70s touch of lizard-like creatures called Sleestaks, monkey people and a sneaky, sarcastic T-Rex as well. Brought to life with loads of CGI, it does boast a great mixture of vibrant colours, making it seem all too real. If only "Land Of The Lost" were released in 3-D, now wouldn't that be quite the ride!

In this movie, Will Ferrell reprises his role as the idiotic person who makes you laugh without ever feeling bad about it. Some say Ferrell is the difference between what is hilarious and what is downright hilarious. While at it, Ferrell shares most of the bawdy humour with co-star Danny McBride who plays a redneck survivalist, and Anna Friel (TV's "Pushing Daisies") who plays research assistant Holly. In a place where past, present and future are fused together, what seems even odder is the shocking placement of both Ferrell's and McBride's adult humour in what we would think to be a family-friendly comedy movie.

By and large, "Land of The Lost" isn't raunchy or extreme enough for most of Ferrell's fans, nor is it friendly enough for kids to safely enjoy. This movie, therefore, remains right where the title says.
